30-second-website-promotion

Before promoting your website you need to make sure you have quality content. You do not want people to come to your site and see a bunch of “coming soon” images and titles. It’s like a date, you’ve got them to say yes to dinner, make sure there is a meal for them when they arrive.

Now that you have plenty of content you are ready to promote your site. But promoting your site properly takes time and you want it now! Here are 3 tips that should only take you about 30 seconds each and have a noticeable impact on your site’s traffic. Each one by themselves will help but doing them in order will have the most impact.

Step 1: Provocative Titles

Go back and take a look at your blog titles. Are they attention grabbing? Do they make you want to click? Do they promise something in 30 seconds? Change any titles that seem boring to something more in line with what you would see in a magazine. They are trying to sell more copies, they wouldn’t do it if it didn’t work. This will get people to click on your links and get to your site, hope you had quality content for them to find.

Step 2: Increase Your Network

Have you noticed how Facebook recommends friends for you? Twitter and LinkedIn do the same thing, add them. The more connections you have the more people will see your posts when you share them on your social networks. You will be surprised how many people you don’t actually know will become friends with you on Facebook, follow you back on Twitter or link with you on LinkedIn. Give it a try.

Step 3: Go Share Crazy

Share your most provocatively titled blog post with your social networks. Find forums which fit your websites niche and share your content there. Find other blogs and offer to create a guest post. Any potential outlet you can find to share your content is an opportunity you should sieze.

Enjoy

Now you can sit back and watch your Google Analytics skyrocket! Alright, so your results may not reach the moon and each of these steps may take you longer than 30 seconds. But they are quick and fairly easy to do. They also will have an impact on your site’s traffic and assuming you have quality content on there they will keep coming back. The return on your time investment is very high with these 3 steps, so go forth and invest!
