In June of 2012 I started writing blog content for Uhuru Network. We received a lot of positive feedback from people about our featured images we were creating. To start the new year I’d like to take a look back at some of my favorite featured images from 2012.

5. Starting A Blog: 5 Truths They Don’t Tell You About
To create this image we repeated the word “blogging” over and over until it filled the canvas. Then we used the word “truth” as a mask revealing only what is inside the text. To create the magnifying glass effect I literally zoomed in with my Mac and used a screenshot under the glass. Then I adjusted the blending mode and transparency.
4. Twitter Fitness Program: 10 Day Challenge
Creating this image was one of my favorites of 2012 because creating and experimenting with the Twitter Fitness program was so much fun. It also makes me chuckle.
3. Five Tips For Effective Web Writing
This is one of the first images I created for a post on this site. To create it I printed out the text, placed the pen on the paper and then used Instagram to create the final image. Pretty simple but I think it turned out nice.
2. CCSPCA Playmate Magazine Has Arrived!
This is one of my favorites because I just like how it feels. It’s entirely digital and was created before the actual print version was available. 2012 was also the launch of the Playmate magazine.
1. You Can No Longer Hide On Facebook
Inspired by an artistic photograph we decided to apply the transparent hands concept to a picture of Keegan. I think it’s just that right amount of odd that compels you to look at it.
