We would like to present Old Town Clovis’ new website, OldTownClovis.org. Old Town Clovis is a region in Clovis that is both historical and a destination for shopping, eating, services and all sorts of year-round events. The Business Organization of Old Town (B.O.O.T.) , which is responsible for setting up events, marketing and promoting the region, hired us to make a “destination style” website that could be a one stop visit to find more information on the area, upcoming events, and see the retailers and restaurants in and around Old Town. The old website had listings but not much more than that. Outside of the homepage social icons, there was really no way for them to connect. We managed to integrate social media into all aspects of the site, as you will see below.

Check out the before (on the left) and after (on the right) images of the website below:

Homepage

The homepage is more visually appealing while improving functionality. On the homepage we have the ability to update events and include a list of destination options (i.e. restaurants, shops, etc). Before it was static information about Old Town. Now, it is dynamic with the ability to update multiple aspects of the main page.

Homepage Footer

The below-the-fold portion of the homepage and the footer were very underutilized in the old site; a large white space leading to some text links were neither useful or appealing. We enhanced the footer with the ability to include blog and other updates, search, contact, maps, as well as other information users would look for on the old site and not find.

Business Directory

Perhaps one of the best aspects and greatest improvements in the site is how the businesses are listed. Previously, there were just listings with maybe an external link to more information. Now, we created custom profile pages inside of OldTownClovis.org for each business. They include a little information about the business, some photos, hours, contact info, website link, Facebook and Twitter integration, and a map. This is a vast improvement! Now, visitors to OldTownClovis.org can find out more information about the merchants located in Old Town without leaving the site or having to search for more information about them. The next step for this is to improve the websites of the merchants and have more inviting landing pages for visitors from OldTownClovis.org as well as improving their social media channels and presence. All this goes into creating a unified and powerful presence for Old Town Clovis on the web!

Virtual Tour

One of the new features that wasn’t in the old site is a virtual tour! You can walk through the streets of Old Town Clovis before you go visit! We are going to incorporate more features into this tour as we continue to help B.O.O.T. and its members.

Other Areas

The images below show improvements in the site function and visual appeal. Events are shown by the most recent as opposed to a solid list. You no longer need to wait for the news, it can be updated instantly! The contact form is much more professional and inviting.
