Campaign Process
It’s been 7 months and 1500+ additional Facebook likes since we launched the Animal Seen on TV program with the CCSPCA and we’re happy to report its success. The program was designed to introduce viral and interactive elements to the animals up for adoption who were brought into local radio and television stations. The same morning an animal appears on TV, we write a blog post about the animal for the CCSPCA website. These posts include a photo and a brief description of the animal. This gives the viewer who sees the animal on the local news station the ability to go to the CCSPCA website and find out more information and share the animal with their friends/followers through Facebook and Twitter. At Uhuru Network, we have a strong policy of measuring all activity which is why we use trackable links on Facebook posts. The information we collect is a valuable tool in promoting and finding homes for animals. Let me show you just how valuable Facebook has become and how important each CCSPCA like is in finding animals a new home.
An average post on Facebook for our Animals Seen On TV program will be read by 60 people and we get about 22 people liking, sharing, and commenting on our posts. So what does all this mean and why is it important to like and share an animal? Well, every time a post is liked and shared, it gets shared with their friends – people that may not like the CCSPCA page or see the animal posts – and that increases the potential exposure for that animal by an additional 6,000 people (on average), many that would have never seen it before! Add that to the 3,500 people that like the CCSPCA Facebook page and we are really generating awareness!
The impact of this program has resulted in 95%+ adoption rate for the animals featured through this program.
This campaign generates a little over half of the visitor traffic to the CCSPCA website. This has also contributed to overall brand awareness, increased donations, information exploration from visitors (as seen in average pages viewed), and most importantly an increase in adoptions. In the image below you will see a snap shot of the site’s traffic for one month.
A Facebook strategy can do more than just help a business grow, it can save lives.
Uhuru Network and the CCSPCA team appreciate every like and share you give the animals on Facebook because it makes a noticeable impact. If you can’t adopt one of our furry friends, sharing it with your friends leads us one step closer to finding a someone who can.
